Trans North Bus & Coach
Good Counsel College is serviced by Trans North Bus & Coach which operates two school bus services within the Cassowary Coast region:
- Tully, Mission Beach & El Arish
- Innisfail, Babinda and surrounds

Bus Fare Assistance
Families using bus transport may be eligible for one of the following two bus fare assistance schemes:
Bus Fare Assistance Program (BFAP)
BFAP provides financial assistance to families who pay more than a nominated weekly threshold in bus/ferry fares to transport their students to a non-state school located outside the Brisbane City Council boundary.
The Bus Fare Assistance Program (BFAP) weekly family threshold for Semester 2 2025 is $40 ($30 for concession card holders).
If you are eligible for BFAP, you will also need to complete paperwork through the school. Please contact the College BFAP Coordinator Mrs Julie Nicolau on 4063 5330 or email gcc.accounts@cns.catholic.edu.au

School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS)
The Department of Transport and Main Roads provides assistance under the School Transport Assistance Scheme (STAS) in situations where access to education is impeded by distance, income or isolation.
Applications must be made online at www.schooltransport.com.au .
Generally, students travelling from Tully, Mission Beach and El Arish in the South and Babinda in the north fall under the BFAP, and students within the local Innisfail catchment area will fall under the STAS.
FAMILIES MUST CONTACT TRANS NORTH TO DETERMINE THEIR ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM.
