No electronic devices are permitted to be used (or visible) before school from 8am, at break times, or when transitioning to or between classes. This includes mobile phones, laptops and headphones.
If mobile phones are required by students, they are encouraged to leave these at the office or with a
Pastoral Leader for the day for safe keeping. Parent/student phone contact should be made through Pastoral Leaders only – students are not permitted to make phone calls via the front office.
Students who breach the device policy will have their mobile phones confiscated until a parent can collect it. Additional consequences for repeated infringements (e.g. afternoon detention) may also be administered, at the discretion of the Pastoral Leader.
If a staff member finds a student in possession of a phone during the school days, they are required to confiscate the device and leave it at the office. Non-compliance from students will not be tolerated – refusal to hand devices to staff will result in referral to a Pastoral Leader.
In the classroom, teachers are responsible for device expectations in their environment; however, teachers must ensure that devices are used solely as a learning / educational tool. Please refer to the College Mobile Device Policy for further information:
