This week we celebrate National Sorry Day, followed by National Reconciliation Week. The theme this year is “In this together”. Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The Good Counsel College community is committed to providing a culturally safe environment where students can engage in meaningful relationships based on the principles of respect, justice, equity, and dignity.
The Cairns Catholic Education’s Reconciliation Action Plan outlines practical actions the schools within the Cairns Diocese will take to strengthen and enhance respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.
